It's that time of the year again when the high school proms are over, yet the dancing is just getting started.  Yes, that ole familiar softball shuffle has invaded the cleats of Upper softball players worse that a bad case of athletes foot.

Every summer about this time of year, those antsy legs and feet start changing over their team colors to a set of uniforms unlike the ones from the seasons beginning.  For example, two of softballs most infamous shufflers (Doug "Dougie" Martin & Tyler Scott) have already danced their way into another roster.  Dougie & Tyler have changed their uniforms more in past three seasons than Inspector Colousseau did in all of his episodes of The Pink Panther.  Tyler switched from Sunny Daze to Reds Boys before the Memorial Day Thoroughbred and oddly enough Dougie made that same shuffle after the Thoroughbred, which Sunny Daze won.  And the most curious twist to the 2011 version of the Softball Shuffle is that most of the guys leaving just won one of the most prestigious tournaments the area has to offer. For the past 20 years the Kentucky Thoroughbred has been one of the must win tournaments for Kentucky teams looking for top recognition.

Besides Martin and Scott, at least 5 others have been rumored to be on their way out of the Sunny Daze dugout.  Kiley Vaughn is taking his slick fielding glove over to the Hustlers of Western Kentucky.  Micah Fiveash, the best left handed hitter in Kentucky is headed to Berties.  "Wags" will now shore up Dynasty's infield.  Two other notables Chad Emberton and Jonsie are looking.

Chad Hockensmith left CKS/ Airmasters for the baby blue clad of the Steel Erectors and from all indications the Softball Shuffle is just getting started.
